Even in laughter the heart may ache, and joy may end in sorrow.
Surely extortion turns a wise man into a fool, and a bribe corrupts the heart.
In that day you will say: “O LORD, I will praise You. Although You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You have comforted me. Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid. For the LORD GOD is my strength and my song, and He also has become my salvation.” With joy you will draw water from the springs of salvation, and on that day you will say: “Give praise to the LORD; proclaim His name! Make His works known among the peoples; declare that His name is exalted. Sing to the LORD, for He has done glorious things. Let this be known in all the earth. . . .
You must not make any cuts in your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the LORD.
For lack of guidance, a nation falls, but with many counselors comes deliverance. He who puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but the one who hates indebtedness is secure. A gracious woman attains honor, but ruthless men gain only wealth. A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man brings trouble on himself.
Where there is no vision, the people cast off restraint; but blessed is he who keeps the Law.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.
