Therefore I urge you, brothers, on account of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—

for he is keeping track, inwardly counting the cost. “Eat and drink,” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.

To the pure, all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Indeed, both their minds and their consciences are defiled.

Beloved, this is now my second letter to you. Both of them are reminders to stir you to wholesome thinking

For from within the hearts of men come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, wickedness, deceit, debauchery, envy, slander, arrogance, and foolishness. All these evils come from within, and these are what defile a man.”

The LORD detests the thoughts of the wicked, but the words of the pure are pleasant to Him.

And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
