Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, and over all the earth itself and every creature that crawls upon it.”

So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Now we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this surpassingly great power is from God and not from us.

Do we not all have one Father? Did not one God create us? Why then do we break faith with one another so as to profane the covenant of our fathers?

And God has prepared us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a pledge of what is to come. . . .

However, from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’

But Jesus called them aside and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their superiors exercise authority over them. It shall not be this way among you. No, a man is a Jew because he is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the written code. Such a man’s praise does not come from men, but from God.

He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing good with his own hands, that he may have something to share with the one in need.
