Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands, without anger or dissension.
So I will bless You as long as I live; in Your name I will lift my hands.
Lift up your hands to the sanctuary and bless the LORD!
Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:
May my prayer be set before You like incense, my uplifted hands like the evening offering.
Hear my cry for mercy when I call to You for help, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy sanctuary.

All who pass by clap their hands at you in scorn. They hiss and shake their heads at the Daughter of Jerusalem: “Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of all the earth?”
Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never let the righteous be shaken.
This is what the Lord GOD says: “Behold, I will lift up My hand to the nations, and raise My banner to the peoples. They will bring your sons in their arms and carry your daughters on their shoulders.
There is no healing for your injury; your wound is severe. All who hear the news of you applaud your downfall, for who has not experienced your constant cruelty?
Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that hail may fall on all the land of Egypt—on man and beast and every plant of the field throughout the land of Egypt.”
Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD. Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:
Now faith is the assurance of what we hope for and the certainty of what we do not see.
(although it was not Jesus who baptized, but His disciples),
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be offered for everyone—
Because you refused my call, and no one took my outstretched hand,
