Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; uphold the rights of the afflicted and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; save them from the hand of the wicked.

The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to counsel.

Only with sound guidance should you wage war, and victory lies in a multitude of counselors.

Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.

For every trampling boot of battle and every garment rolled in blood will be burned as fuel for the fire. . . .

For lack of guidance, a nation falls, but with many counselors comes deliverance.

For You formed my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works, and I know this very well. My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Listen to Me, O islands; pay attention, O distant peoples: The LORD called Me from the womb; from the body of My mother He named Me.

Did not He who made me in the womb also make them? Did not the same One form us in the womb?
